Chairman of Ashur Bank Eng. Wadee Al Handal attend Knowledge Sharing Workshop on SME Sector Development in Iraq which held on 15-18 June 2010 Beirut, as preliminary conclusions have been drawn with respect to the areas that are in need of immediate attention and concerted action from the Government in partnership with its social partners - employers for a sound MSME-led private sector expansion:
- Entrepreneurial culture development
- Access to funding and loan guarantee schemes
- Enabling regulatory environment (including tax and customs regulations)
- Institutional support and business development services
- Conducive public procurement regime to increased demand for MSME output
- Promotion of rights at work and labour protection
